I just wanted to say the biggest thank you for our beautiful blooms. They were absolutely PERFECT, and so whimsical and magical. I could seriously go on and on. You were so amazing and efficient, the wrapped florals at the end of the night blew people away. Everything was just so perfect.
Planning a wedding can be overwhelming and stressful. We’re on a mission to keep the floral design part simple & fun.
A get-to-know you questionnaire, asking key questions about your big day.
plan + finalise
Once we're on the same page about the designs I'll formalise a quote so we can lock you in. But don't worry - there's still room for little changes
before your big day.
After you submit your Questionnaire, I'll get back to you with a recommendation outlining options that best suit your venue, your budget and your style.

NZ-grown + seasonal
Imported blooms not only wildly increase carbon emissions and excessive packaging, they get fumigated on arrival. This means they don't last nearly as long, nor smell nearly as good.
None of this greenhouse stuff either. Using flowers grown in season keeps costs down and makes your bouquets unique to the time of year. Rad.
no floral foam
Floral foam is that squishy green stuff that many florists use, in arrangements and installations. The thing they don't tell you? It's a microplastic which pollutes the ocean. Straight up bad.
You won't see floral foam at Bloomsday, ever. Instead I use a combination of brown twine, recycled chicken wire, and even twigs.
You won't see hot glue
plastic-ing up our wreaths either, just wire, nature + magic.
All our bouquets are wrapped in compostable tissue paper, 100% recycled brown paper, a recycled jar + compostable organic (!!) jute twine - this keeps them happy and safe on the way to the wedding ✔️✔️✔️
All offcuts head to my worm farm, or go home with WeCompost.co.nz too! Yeowww!
Other florists use single-use plastic wrapping, synthetic ribbon, and even plastic tubes around stems. All of this ends up as litter (*heart shatters*) or in landfills! Not here.
Weddings and events are opportunities for huge amazing floral displays - but often this leads to huge wastage. Flowers used once, then thrown out.
How does Bloomsday combat this?
- the option to wrap your flowers for guests to take home from the wedding
- drying the flowers for use in wreaths
- wrapping into bouquets on park benches and bus stops as random acts of kindness
- just being generally epic 😉
Bloomsday believes there's enough STUFF in this world already (see below!). This is why all the vases used for your wedding flowers are either pre-loved or lovingly handmade right here in NZ.
The aim is to reduce over-consumption. Mid- best-day-of-your-life you'll be too busy having fun to notice if the vases match your nail polish.
Unique + low-waste.
no nasty chemicals
Believe it or not, bleach, dye, and paint are not uncommon at other florists.
From bone-white ferns to shiny gold leaves, that gorgeousness is coming from a harmful place. (Read more here!) How can we in good conscience sell flowers and foliage that have been treated with toxic chemicals?
Bloomsday aims to celebrate the natural world, not harm it. Only naked-as-the-day-they-bloomed floristry here.
